Inside Protobuzz and the team modernizing building access

Learn how Aphrx Inc. builds Protobuzz, why we obsess over resident-friendly automations, and how we partner with condo boards, property teams, and hosts to upgrade legacy buzzers without rewiring.

Our story

Protobuzz began in downtown Toronto when Aphrx Inc. founder Amal Parameswaran set out to replace unreliable intercom workflows with intuitive software. Growing up in condos and working alongside property teams, Amal saw how much time was lost juggling deliveries, temporary visitors, and outdated hardware.

We believe residents deserve secure, flexible access without waiting on concierge desks, and building teams need automation that respects their existing infrastructure. Protobuzz bridges that gap by layering cloud control, audit ready history, and mobile notifications onto the buzzer systems properties already rely on.

Our team works out of Toronto's startup community, listening to building operators, board members, and residents across the GTA. Their feedback drives every release, from virtual callbox workflows to smarter contractor access.

What guides our work

Every release follows these principles so residents, property teams, and partners trust Protobuzz.

Resident first experience

We design the smart buzzer app so residents, families, and guests feel welcome from the first tap. Gentle onboarding, inclusive language, and responsive support turn building access into a calm routine.

Trust and transparency

Property teams get full visibility into digital buzzer activity with audit ready history, privacy safeguards, and consent driven notifications. Everyone understands who has access and why.

Partnerships that scale communities

We collaborate with property managers, board members, and service providers to create playbooks that fit each community. From remote buzzer access to virtual callbox workflows, every release is shaped alongside real buildings.
