The Apple users have already welcomed the all new features of iOS 10 such as ultra-advanced Messaging, superior Lock screen, expanded use of 3D Touch, iOS 10 has been quite successful in attracting users. And, why not?!! It is obviously the best ever iOS update.
But, if you are not having a great time after upgrading to iOS 10 or simply do not want to use the latest OS any more, there is a tricky way back to iOS 9. Follow this simple steps to downgrade to iOS 9 from the latest iOS 10.
Points to be considered:
- You must have a backup from iOS 9 available.
- The Backups which you had made on iOS 10 can’t be restored on iOS 9.3.5.
There are two methods with which you can downgrade from the latest iOS 10 to iOS 9.3.5
Step 1.Download the iOS 9.3.5 IPSW file for your iPhone/iPad on your computer.
Here are the direct links to download the compatible firmware file on your Mac or Windows PC.
Step 2. Next, you need to connect your device to your computer with a USB cable. Then, launch iTunes on your computer and then select your device from the top left menu.
Step 3. On your Mac: You need to hold the OPTION and Command Key then click the “Restore” button.
On your Windows: You have to Hold on SHIFT and then click the “Restore” button.
Step 4. You have to navigate to the IPSW file which you have just downloaded.
iTunes will inform you that it will erase your iOS device and all the data would be lost. Proceed ahead with the process.
After the process has been completed, your iPhone will reboot to the welcome screen. Next, you need to restore your backup.
Step 1. Download the iOS 9.3.5 firmware file on your computer. Turn off Find My iPhone on your device. (Settings → iCloud → Find My iPhone)
Step 2. Connect your smartphone to the computer. Launch iTunes.
Step 3. Put your iPhone into DFU mode. Hold down both Power and Home buttons for about 10 seconds.
Now, you have to release the Power button but continue to hold the Home button until your device enters DFU mode. iTunes will inform you that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode.
Step 4. Next, you need to follow the steps explained above from 3 to 4.
